Landscape in Rancho Palos Verdes Estates, CA ( Joe & Suzie Sojka )
Living in Palos Verdes Estates, I have never had access to any creative landscape designers and installers. Home after home always ended up with the same “vanilla” type plantings and generic type hardscape.
The ingenious use of ground covers, hedges and unusual planting schemes, in concert with “Hansel and Gretel” type masonry is so very unique.
Knowing that we were going to live in a new 700 sq. ft. guest house for a protracted period, Rick was asked to create a plan that used the yard as part of our living space. Rick’s pallet of patio waterscape, planting areas, use of Palos Verdes stone and boulders was like a fine artist.
Rick was again asked to repeat the design, but on a larger scale, for the new main house. His use of scale, dramatic stone/boulder staircase, courtyard concept and patio area displayed an unusual high degree of architectural excellence.
Thank you Rick for a very superb design and installation.

Landscaape in Tarzana, CA (P.J. Levy)
Rick Mosbaugh is a landscape artist. Instead of paints however, he uses trees, shrubs, flowers, dirt and rocks to create a masterpiece. What I like about Rick is, if you have a vision for your property, not only will he execute it in a cost-effective manner, but he will take your vision far beyond what you could ever imagine. And if you don't have a vision, not to worry. He and his capable crew know exactly what to do to create a beautiful setting for you and your family. Hiring Rick Mosbaugh was the best thing that ever happened to my property!

Landscape in Brentwood, CA (Trish & Bob Moore)
We have been clients of Richard's for many years. From the initial project he did for us - establishing "structure" with privets and boxwoods - the look of our house and landscape went from okay to amazing. Rick has a gift, a real sixth sense, in landscape design. The succeeding projects, a little here, a little there, have made our yard - front and back into - well, a featured house on the Palisades Garden Tour. Kudo's Rick - you're a landscape genius!

Landscape in Brentwood, CA (Leslie Aronzon)
Working with Rick Mosbaugh for all of my landscaping needs has been a pleasure. He joined our construction team towards the end of a long project when we did not have a single blade of grass or a plant. He was able to work with the contractor and his teams so well, integrating ideas and responsibilities. The finished product, completed on a timely basis, is exactly what we wanted: a mature, grown-in look complimentary to the style of the house. I continue to use Rick for all of my landscaping needs, and he is always responsive and open to my thoughts.

Lanndscape in Brentwood, CA (Hal and Lynn Barza)
Rick Mosbaugh is a landscaping genius. He was able to transform our back and front yards from ordinary places into truly amazing outdoor spaces. He did this through a meticulous study of the space, from every angle and in every type of light, followed by the creation of a unique and innovative design plan that was better than anything we ever could have imagined. There is a magical quality to his work. It is hard to believe that the back yard we now have is the same property as what was there before.

Landscape in Rancho Park, CA (Jeffrey & Sheryl Arrington)
We engaged Rick and his crew for two jobs. In 2006 Rick landscaped our backyard after we added a detached home theater and refaced the rear of our residence. In 2009 Rick landscaped our front yard. Both projects presented difficult challenges. Both times Rick produced stunning results.
Our house was built in 1951, on a narrow lot that was carved into the side of a slope. The previous owners did not do much landscaping and had essentially neglected the grounds for years (if not decades). We completely remodeled the house in the style of classical architecture, and asked Rick to design a traditional-looking landscape to compliment the new appearance of the house. We know nothing about landscaping and offered Rick little direction other than "make it look good."
The challenges Rick faced were plentiful. He had to deal with uneven slopes, abrupt drops, odd angles, dilapidated and non-sensically placed electrical and plumbing lines, out-of-control plants from across the property line, and a limited budget. The job demanded creativity. Fortunately, that is Rick's strength.
Rick took hold of our wreck of a yard and transformed it from an embarrassment to a source of great pride.
He ripped all of the old out and then brought the land back to life. He moved dirt off the property. H moved dirt from one place to another. He built retaining walls. He installed a sprinkler and drainage system. H delivered an 80-year-old tree to the property on a crane. He built an access ramp for our huge dogs. He laid tile. He presented us with a wide variety of possible plant choices and locations. And he even installed lights so that we could see his creations at night.
Throughout both projects, Rick was hands on. He stayed in touch with us, both on the site and by telephone and email. He constantly updated us about the costs of the project and provided detailed documentation. Rick alwys made us feel like ours was the most important project on his busy schedule.
We are thrilled with our new yard, and owe it all to Rick's genius and hard work. We would not consider hiring anyone else for future projects, and strongly recommend him to anyone who is looking for an elite landscape artist.

Landscape Construction in West Los Angeles, CA (Kim and Mike Thies)
We really enjoyed working with Rick and his crew for our front yard makeover. Rick asked a lot of questions at the start, to gauge what sort of things we liked and disliked. As landscaping novices, we were not all that adept at articulating our preferences (we'll know if we like it after we see it!), so we were amazed that he managed to produce and execute a design that, in retrospect, was just what we were looking for. Throughout the process, Rick and his crew were completely professional and communicated well, and were happy to answer any and all questions we had along the way. If we ever have another big landscaping job, we'll not hesitate to ask for an encore, but in the mean time, we look forward to watching our new garden grow.

Landscape in Valley Village, Los Angeles, CA (Barbara and Val)
Hello Rick, Barbara and I are very pleased with the entire completed project at our residence in Sherman Oaks. Your supervisor and crew did a superb job of replacing our old asphalt driveway with a reinforced concrete and brick surfaced driveway. Also, covering our front porch and steps with a used-brick surface and connecting the bricked-in porch steps and the driveway with a beautifully free-form curved brick walkway. Our old front lawn was bulldozed along with the existing thirty-nine year old sprinkling system which necessitated removal of a massive network of large roots from a very large maple tree (thirty-foot circumference at the base) which was removed two years ago. The old lawn was replaced with a beautiful sod of lush green grass. Also, five staked birch saplings along with several ornamental bushes completed the plant decorations. Also, the sprinkler systems on the east and west sides of the house were replaced. The overall effect of the entire project was most pleasant. We were also impressed with the professionalism of the work crew and the neatness of the entire property at the end of each day's work.
